Current Events:

The Onalaska Police Department would like to remind everyone about safe railroad crossing.  We have recently received numerous complaints about persons crossing the railroad tracks near the spillway.  They are crossing the trains that are stopped and walking on the railroad tracks to access the spillway area.

We would like to remind everyone that the only places where pedestrian crossing is allowed is near the spillway and near the entrance to the park.  Persons crossing in other areas or those caught walking on the railroad tracks will be cited at the railroad’s request.  The citation amount for this violation is $235.00.

Adult supervision near the railroad tracks is strongly recommended due to the heavy railroad traffic flow.

On June 28, 2008, Harley Davidson will be hosting the Bubba Blackwell stunt show near their store from 12:00 pm to 4 pm.  Due to this event, traffic may be delayed and/or detoured on Oak Forest Drive from 11^th Avenue South to Pinecrest Street, and on 12^th Avenue South from Pinecrest Street to Crossing Meadows Drive. In an effort to avoid excessive traffic congestion, persons that are not attending this event are encouraged to take alternate routes.
